The Isle of Canna is a remote Scottish island off the west coast of Scotland. Part of the Small Isles. The island is a great taster of everything coastal paddling offers. i.e., sea cliffs, caves, white-sand beaches, abundant wildlife, and rock-hopping spots all squished into one small island. 

This trip is an opportunity to explore this beautiful island from a paddleboard.  

 

Who is it for: 

This trip is for intermediate paddleboarders who want to explore a remote Scottish island.

 You should:

  •  have experience paddling in at least a force 3 wind and small swell 

  • be comfortable walking at least 5km in a day, as the accommodation is accessed by walking (luggage transported) 

  • Be comfortable sharing a room with one other person

 

Where is it: 

The trip starts at the port of Mallaig, where we board the ferry to Canna. On the island, we are staying in a Cottage on Sanday, the small island next to Canna, which is connected by a bridge. 

What do you get: 

- 4/5 days exploring the island 

-  1 experienced coach/guide 

- Opportunity to paddle as much as we can. We aim to offer a paddle every day if the weather allows

- Accommodation in a cottage with a shared twin room  

- Ferry ticket 

- Catered from Day 1 Dinner till Day 4 lunch (excluding Sun eve at restaurant) 

- opportunity to observe wildlife such as puffins

- kit hire available (£45pp)

What's not included: 

- travel insurance 

- transport to Mallaig

- personal paddling kit (wetsuit, cag, shoes etc)

Example itinerary 

Day 1: Arrive in Mallaig, meet the group and collect any kit 

          Take the Ferry to Canna 

          Settle into Accommodation 

          Dinner 

          Eve Paddle or explore  

Day 2: full day paddle  

Day 3: full day paddle 

          Eve meal at Cafe Canna (not included)

Day 4: pack up, leave accommodation 

          Paddle or explore 

          Catch the ferry back to Mallaig 

This is only a suggested itinerary and may change with group wants and weather conditions.
